Today (September 27, 2025), the Tokyo Game Show 2025 officially opens to the public. Visitors are likely rushing to their favorite game booths to enjoy demos and stage events.
At TGS’s general admission days, one booth you should definitely check out every year is the Google Play Booth. In past years, Google Play has offered generous giveaways including high-value Google Play Points and merchandise—highly appreciated by users.
This year, head all the way to the far end of the hall to find the Google Play Booth. Unlike previous years, it’s focused primarily on benefits for Platinum and Diamond members, so keep that in mind. Also note that offerings may vary depending on time or date—this report reflects only what was available as of the morning of September 27.
First, you must obtain a wristband. Platinum/Diamond members receive a shopper bag along with a wristband upon visiting the booth. The wristband appears to be “lucky,” and winning it grants 1,000 Google Play Points.

Additionally, you’ll receive an entry ticket to the booth’s attraction, “Diamond Ship.” This is a cooperative shooting game for eight players. Before starting, participants select their preferred title and then enter a lottery for merchandise (or Google Play Points).

The titles available are: “SD Gundam Generation Eternal,” “Prowrestling Manager 2024,” “Sonic Rumble,” “FINAL FANTASY VII EVER CRISIS,” “Monster Strike,” “LINE: Disney Tsum Tsum,” and “Roblox.” The player with the highest score among the eight will receive an extra T-shirt for their chosen title—so aim to come in first. When I played, besides a barcode-based lottery for game merchandise, there was also a ball-drawing box where I won another 1,000 points.

Also included with your shopper bag are tickets for missions, such as experiencing the latest Android devices or trying out Android-exclusive titles. Each of these offers a chance to win 500 points through a lottery. Completing all missions unlocks another opportunity to play Diamond Ship.
Additionally, there’s a promotion where the first 1,000 people who answer a survey receive 500 Google Play Points.
When asked, “How much is this actually worth?"—it depends on luck and crowd levels—but realistically, you could earn up to around 3,000 points. To give a personal example: I earned 1,000 points from the wristband, another 1,000 from Diamond Ship’s lottery, and 500 points by participating in one mission (which took a 15-minute wait). The other mission required waiting an hour, so I gave up. In total, that’s 2,500 points—very satisfying indeed.
The key point is that this isn’t just worth 2,500 yen in value—it’s added directly to your Google Play Points balance. So Platinum/Diamond members effectively gain an immediate 2,500-point boost toward maintaining their membership status. Even for Diamond members, adding points through purchases gives only 2 points per 100 yen—meaning you’d need to spend 10,000 yen just to earn 200 points. Getting 2,500 points all at once is incredibly valuable.
Also, there’s a Diamond Member-Only Lounge inside the venue where entry grants access to far more luxurious merchandise. The gift set includes items from a BEAMS DESIGN collaboration—notebooks, towels, and thermos bottles, among others. Best of all, it’s not a lottery; the box is quite heavy, so receiving it comes as a real surprise.
In short, Google Play’s offerings at Tokyo Game Show are especially generous for high-tier members. If you’re a Platinum or Diamond member attending TGS, it’s absolutely worth making the trip.
