Koei Tecmo Games unveiled new information today (September 26, 2025) during the live-streamed program “Koei Tecmo LIVE! in TGS2025,” announcing that “Zero: Crimson Butterfly REMAKE” is scheduled for release early 2026 on PC, Nintendo Switch 2, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
The broadcast featured a retrospective look at the evolution of the “Zero” series since its inception in 2001, introduced story summaries, and included engaging segments such as side-by-side comparisons of key scenes between the original release and the remake—offering fans a fascinating glimpse into how the “Crimson Butterfly” experience has been reimagined.

Additionally, the latter part of the program revealed first-ever gameplay footage, showcasing fully remastered graphics. The video also features the long-desired “holding hands” system—a mechanic originally conceived for the 2003 original version but deemed unfeasible due to technical limitations at the time.

In addition, Koei Tecmo Games announced the creation of a special limited-edition merchandise set including short stories. This exclusive bonus content will be featured in the deluxe edition of the game and includes two original short stories: one exploring events before the main narrative and another detailing an alternate ending.
