Today (November 4, 2025), Try System announced that the early access version of its PC software, End of History, will be released on December 10. The price is set at 2,800 yen (tax included), with a launch sale also planned.
This title is a sandbox-style strategy RPG in which players exist as part of the world itself—free to rise to fame and become king, or live as an independent wanderer.
The demo version released on October 2 has been played by approximately 30,000 people, generating substantial feedback. Some players pointed out issues such as poor gameplay accessibility and suboptimal controls, revealing numerous challenges that needed addressing. Based on comprehensive evaluation, the development team concluded that releasing an early access version—while continuing to closely monitor community feedback—was the most appropriate approach for progressively refining the game through iterative updates.
A roadmap outlining future development has also been published.
Before the early access release, the following improvements are planned: enhancing combat feel and pacing, improving UI with a focus on dialogue handling, adjusting game balance, and adding new features.
Additionally, post-early access updates will include controller support.

Early Access version of End of History
Release date set for December 10, 2025
Decision to release as early access made following feedback from demo version
Try System Co., Ltd. is pleased to announce that the early access version (pre-release) of its upcoming indie game label “WorldMap” title, End of History, a sandbox-style strategy RPG, will be released on December 10, 2025.
This game allows players to exist as part of the world—either climbing the ranks to become king or choosing to live freely as a wanderer.
Reasons for Choosing Early Access Release
Since the demo version was made available, it has been played by over 30,000 individuals. Feedback has also poured in through our official Discord server (now exceeding 650 members) and various other social media communities.
While many players enjoyed the game, concerns were raised regarding gameplay difficulty and poor control responsiveness—highlighting numerous issues that required attention.
After comprehensive review, we determined that releasing as an early access title—with continued monitoring of community feedback—and implementing updates in stages would be the optimal path forward.
Key feedback received includes:
- Requests for improvements to combat feel and pacing
- Criticisms about unclear tutorials and UI design
- Demand for controller support
- Suggestions for expanded role-playing elements and balance adjustments
We are grateful to all players who have been eagerly anticipating this title, and we hope you enjoy the early access version.
Development Roadmap Going Forward
Future development will proceed in two phases: before and after the early access release.
Planned updates prior to early access release
-
Improvement of combat feel and pacing
Based on player feedback regarding controls and enemy NPC behavior, adjustments are being made to reduce frustration and enhance strategic depth. -
UI improvements centered around dialogue processing
In addition to revising tutorial content, elements that hindered user interaction have been identified and redesigned for a smoother, more intuitive experience. -
Game balance adjustments
Mechanisms that provided extreme advantages early in the game are being re-evaluated and adjusted to improve overall balance. -
Addition of new features
New features include unlocking sandbox mode from the start, new paths to establish independent factions, romance options with NPCs—elements not present in the demo version.
Note: Controller support is scheduled for implementation after early access release.
Development plan following early access release
-
Major UI overhaul
Currently, many interface elements are designed around mouse control. Significant revisions will be required to enable controller compatibility. These changes will also result in a clearer, more intuitive user experience. -
Implementation of controller support
Controller functionality will be added alongside the UI update. -
Ongoing improvements based on community feedback
Throughout the early access period, we will continue monitoring player input and making iterative enhancements.
Specifically regarding controller support—this was frequently cited as a major barrier to enjoyable gameplay. While implementation requires time, we understand players’ patience and are committed to rolling out support gradually.
