KRAFTON JAPAN today (September 26, 2025) has launched the new mode “Hydroyal” in the smartphone app “PUBG MOBILE.”
Hydroyal is the first asymmetric PvP mode in this title. Each round features five players—four survivors and one hunter—who take on distinct roles and objectives. The survivors must navigate through areas of the map, activate terminals to progress rounds, and ultimately escape through an exit gate. Meanwhile, the hunter employs unique abilities such as luring opponents, becoming invisible, and impeding their movement in order to prevent the survivors from escaping.
To win, survivors must use strategic actions like hiding inside lockers or using fire extinguishers to block the hunter’s line of sight, while also obtaining items that allow them to repair terminals quickly—requiring both strategy and teamwork.

PUBG MOBILE launches its first asymmetric PvP mode, “Hydroyal,” delivering intense hunter-versus-survivor showdowns
KRAFTON JAPAN Co., Ltd. (President & CEO: Lee Kansok) is pleased to announce that the asymmetric chase-and-escape match “Hydroyal” has officially launched in PUBG MOBILE starting September 26, 2025.
Following strong positive feedback from its preview at gamescom 2025, we are thrilled to officially release Hydroyal—the first asymmetric PvP mode in PUBG MOBILE, one of the most popular mobile games worldwide. Starting today, players can dive into fast-paced, five-player asymmetric chase-and-escape matches. Players can team up to survive, outwit opponents, utilize new strategic items, and leverage dynamic terrain to gain an edge in thrilling confrontations.
In Hydroyal, players take on intense pursuit and evasion action set against the newly created Mylta Power facility in Erangel. Years ago, a power plant was abandoned following an accident, now overrun by overgrown vegetation. The team dispatched to unlock terminal locks discovers that a technician has mutated into a dangerous hunter due to exposure to hazardous materials.
Each round features five players: one hunter and four survivors. Players must move across various areas of the map, activate terminals to advance rounds, and escape through an exit gate. They must also cooperate to defeat the hunter. The hunter possesses distinctive abilities such as luring enemies, slowing their movement, and vanishing from sight—making every round a high-risk battle.
Players can skillfully use their surroundings and objects to gain advantage. Survivors can knock down planks, hide in lockers, sneak through electric fences, or use explosive fire extinguishers to block the hunter’s vision. Items such as fruit for health recovery, jet gloves, portable defibrillators, and wrenches provide speed boosts, faster rescue times, and quicker terminal repairs—creating new tactical opportunities and rewarding teamwork.
This new mode emphasizes strategic thinking and coordination. Tools are provided to master movements like jumping over windows or sliding, exploit nearby objects, and find crucial items during close combat to guide survivors. The evaluation system tracks both individual performance and team contributions. Additionally, a heartbeat-inspired directional heart rate display enhances tension across all pursuits, delivering equal parts excitement and strategy in every round.
Hydroyal is now available in PUBG MOBILE starting September 26, 2025. Download the game for free and start playing today.
