Poland-based developer Kubold has unveiled a new trailer announcing the official addition of Story Mode to its upcoming PC sword-fighting fighting game, Hellish Quart.
Hellish Quart is a combat action title set in 17th-century Poland-Lithuania, where warriors wielding diverse swords from different cultural backgrounds—such as sabers, rapiers, and broadswords—engage in one-on-one duels. It’s often described as the “Western-style Bushido Blade.” Players must manage distance between opponents while executing combos and special moves through various button combinations, or by guarding.

The game realistically simulates sword blades colliding with one another, and motion-captured movements are faithfully reproduced. The development team includes Jakub Kiesel, a senior animator who previously worked on Gears of War: Judgment and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, showcasing high-level technical expertise.

While Story Mode had been hinted at since the early access release, the newly released trailer reveals noticeable improvements in graphics and voice acting. The story script is written by Jacek Komuda, a renowned Polish historical novelist. With Story Mode now added, this long-running early access version—now entering its fifth year—is set for a major update, bringing it closer to full completion. We look forward to further updates.
