At the ongoing Tokyo Game Show 2025 at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, a demo station for the new title “PowerWash Simulator 2” (available on PC / PS5 / Xbox Series X|S) was showcased at the Neon Noroshi booth. In this article, we present our hands-on report.
This title is the sequel to “PowerWash Simulator,” developed by FuturLab. While maintaining the core fun of cleaning grime with a pressure washer, it features significant upgrades in graphics and controls compared to its predecessor, along with new additions such as lifts.
During the demo, we attempted our first mission: washing a truck. Staff informed us that using new tools like cleaning agents and floor cleaners would allow for more efficient cleaning, so we decided to give it a try.
First, applying the cleaning agent lifted stubborn dirt from the vehicle body, turning it completely white. Then, using a washer with wide spray coverage made it possible to instantly clean mud stains that were difficult to remove without the cleaner.
Initially, I struggled to remove stains because I was using a high-pressure nozzle with limited spray range. However, once I changed my approach, the vehicle rapidly transformed into a shiny state. Watching the glossy finish emerge on what had been heavily soiled made me feel truly “satisfying,” and I’m deeply grateful to the staff for their helpful guidance.
According to the staff, this game has seen a major enhancement in graphics compared to its predecessor. Indeed, inspecting the cleaned vehicle afterward revealed clearly improved material textures and an even greater sense of accomplishment upon completion.
Additionally, we were introduced to the new lift feature. While vertical movement was somewhat inconvenient in the previous game, this version allows for much more comfortable vertical mobility using the lift.
Moreover, we had the opportunity to interview Jess Green, the marketing manager of the title, and here’s what she shared:
4Gamer:
Thank you for your time today. Could you share what aspects you specifically focused on when improving upon the original?
Jess Green (hereafter, Green):
The foundation remains the same as the previous game, but we’ve incorporated community feedback to enhance many elements and make everything overall “better.”
4Gamer:
So the quality has improved across the board.
Green:
Yes. The visuals and effects have evolved significantly compared to the original. We’ve also expanded the variety of tools available, implementing features that players frequently requested. I believe it’s now more comfortable to play than ever before.
4Gamer:
I see. How would you recommend using these new tools?
Green:
There’s no single “correct” way to use the tools—how you clean is entirely up to your creativity. That said, when cleaning floors, I’d especially recommend trying out the new floor cleaner, a feature introduced in this title. It will definitely enhance your sense of satisfaction.
4Gamer:
We’ve heard that multiplayer is also included.
Green:
Yes, local play supports up to two players with split-screen functionality, allowing you to monitor each other’s progress and cooperate. Online, up to four players can join, so it should be a lively experience (laughs).
4Gamer:
Thank you very much. Lastly, do you have a message for 4Gamer readers?
Green:
To everyone who played the first game—thank you sincerely. And I truly believe that “if you’ve played one, there’s no reason not to play two.” (laughs) Please enjoy this evolved version to your heart’s content.
