About the Anime Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?
Based on the light novel series by Fujino Oomori, which has sold over 20 million copies worldwide, this story unfolds in a massive city centered around an enormous underground labyrinth (the “dungeon”), following the adventure and growth of young Bell Cranel.
The anime aired its first season in April 2015, followed by Season 2 in July 2019, Season 3 in October 2020, Season 4 in July 2022, and the latest installment, DanMachi V: The Goddess of Abundance, began broadcasting in October 2024.
In April 2025, it marks exactly ten years since the anime’s initial broadcast, placing it squarely within its 10th anniversary celebration period.
Beyond the main series, spin-off content includes an animated adaptation of Sword Oratoria (2017), and a theatrical film featuring a completely new story written by Fujino Oomori (2019), showcasing diverse expansions across multiple platforms.
