The gaming display brand “GigaCrysta” by I/O Data (hereafter, IO Data) is a regular fixture at Tokyo Game Show. At TGS 2025, the company showcased numerous displays at its booth. This time, we’d like to introduce two new LCD displays that were unveiled for the first time.

A 320Hz Display Under ¥30,000: LCD-GD254U

First up is the 24.5-inch LCD monitor “LCD-GD254U,” scheduled for release in early November.

Positioned specifically for FPS gamers, this model stands out with its exceptionally high maximum vertical refresh rate—up to 320Hz—and a rapid gray-to-gray response time of just 0.4ms. It features a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels.

Upon checking the OSD menu, we confirmed that the vertical refresh rate is set to “V:320Hz.” Thumbnail image No.005 / First reveal of new display set to launch in November. Checked out its new features at the IO Data booth at TGS2025

Of course, there are already many esports-focused displays capable of over 500Hz. What makes the LCD-GD254U special is its estimated retail price including tax—only ¥29,800, making it highly accessible.

The stand base adopts a compact square design, which is currently trending. Its slim profile makes it easy to place items around the monitor—this feature has been well-received.

Most esports-focused high-speed displays use TN-mode panels, known for their fast response but inferior image quality. The LCD-GD254U differentiates itself by using an IPS-series “HAS” panel, which offers superior color reproduction compared to typical TN-panel models.

While many dedicated esports monitors start at around ¥60,000 and often exceed ¥100,000, the LCD-GD254U’s 320Hz capability—though not reaching 500Hz—is still a compelling choice for gamers seeking an affordable setup tailored to competitive gaming.

Affordable Dual-Mode Display with “Focus Mode”: LCD-GDU271JAD

The second new product is the 27-inch monitor “LCD-GDU271JAD,” currently under active development aiming for release in mid-November.

The LCD-GDU271JAD features two major highlights.
First, it supports what IO Data calls “Dual Mode” (officially Dual Frame Rate or DFR)—a feature allowing the monitor to switch between modes based on resolution. At 3840×2160 (4K), it can achieve a maximum refresh rate of 160Hz; when switching the display output to 1920×1080 (Full HD), it enables up to 320Hz. This lets users enjoy high-resolution, detailed visuals for games that prioritize image quality, while switching to Full HD mode with ultra-high frame rates for competitive esports titles—ensuring smooth, motion-blur-free gameplay.

Checking the OSD menu confirmed this: under “Dual Mode,” we saw “FHD 320Hz,” clearly indicating it supports 320Hz display. Thumbnail image No.008 / First reveal of new display set to launch in November. Checked out its new features at the IO Data booth at TGS2025

The second key feature is its integration of “Focus Mode”—a proprietary function first introduced in IO Data’s 10th-anniversary model, the LCD-GCQ271UD (launched in October 2024). Focus Mode displays content on a 27-inch screen as if it were a 24-inch monitor with a resolution of 2560×1440. This helps esports players maintain consistency during training and actual tournaments, as they can simulate the exact display environment used in competitions (typically 24 inches / Full HD).

With Focus Mode enabled, gamers can enjoy both high-resolution large-screen visuals and an optimal training setup on a single 27-inch monitor.

Additionally, when using Focus Mode with the 24-inch equivalent display, white flashing border lines appear every 10 seconds around the black frame surrounding the image. This subtle visual cue enhances focus by drawing attention to the game content—making it easier to concentrate, hence “Focus” mode.

The demo unit was in Focus Mode, showing multiple white flashing borders on the black frame area. Thumbnail image No.009 / First reveal of new display set to launch in November. Checked out its new features at the IO Data booth at TGS2025

Combining dual-mode functionality with a pro-level Focus Mode is nothing short of brilliant—truly an eye-opening innovation.

The estimated retail price of the LCD-GDU271JAD is ¥55,800—relatively affordable for a dual-mode display. For gamers seeking a single monitor that balances stunning image quality with esports-focused features, this model is definitely worth considering.
