Players can now join for free (with account or subscription required on certain platforms). The stage is the new destructible map “Fort Lyndon,” a recreation of California’s residential areas and beaches—offering an explosive sandbox battlefield.
This free-to-play package allows players to experience the largest map in Battlefield history, “Fort Lyndon,” with a battle royale mode that has evolved in unprecedented ways.
The DNA of Battlefield blends seamlessly with battle royale elements, creating diverse strategies and unique paths to victory. Players descend into battles involving up to 100 participants, exploring vast fields to acquire powerful gear while experiencing the hallmark “dynamics of team combat.” The introduction of the “Tactical Destruction” system adds new strategic depth by allowing players to weaponize the environment itself.
Each round unfolds with cinematic scale typical of Battlefield—filled with explosions and intense action.
The free-to-play content in “REDSEC” also includes a brand-new mode: “Gauntlet.” Eight teams, each consisting of four-player squads, compete in dynamic mission-based rounds using a tournament format. Each round is limited to five minutes, requiring teams to achieve objectives within that time. With maps, goals, and scenarios changing every match, quick thinking and teamwork determine victory.
Furthermore, players can use “Battlefield Portal” within “REDSEC” to create custom rules and scenarios, crafting entirely unique gameplay experiences. On the massive Fort Lyndon map, users can set up anything from a “hammer-only battle” to a “headshot-only sniper duel,” fully customizable via powerful tools—available free of charge.

Seasonal content continues to roll out incrementally, with maps, modes, weapons, and other elements added over time. All game-changing features are provided free of charge or obtainable in-game—ensuring fair access for all players. As we’ve done through Battlefield Labs, Battlefield Studios is building “Battlefield 6” and “REDSEC” alongside the community, incorporating valuable player feedback to grow both games and expand the Battlefield universe further.
“Battlefield 6” is currently available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC (Steam, EA App, Epic Games Store). The latest entry in the series delivers combat on an unprecedented scale. It features a new multiplayer mode, a gripping single-player campaign, the return of powerful creator tools via “Portal,” and an innovative sandbox experience where every battle, vehicle, and strategy leads toward victory.
