Cast appears in full Halloween costumes!

Before the show began, the announcements were made by Samae Fumio (Department Head of Negotiation) and Date Koumu (regular at café-bar “Aporia”), who explained event guidelines. The contrast between the nervousness of Date and the calm demeanor of Samae, along with their relaxed banter as close acquaintances, was entertaining.

Following a live performance by artist Kazune Tanaka and dancer performances, the cast took the stage—all in full Halloween costumes—eliciting loud cheers from the audience (the event’s protagonist/attendee).
The event also featured the “El Tama Project,” where attendees could participate by bringing gifts such as themed costumes for the cast or floral balloon art with character panels.

Masatomo Nakazawa received an exorcist coat, Chin Hiroko Kobayashi got wolf ears and tail, Takuya Satou was given a Dracula cloak, and Aoi Katsu, serving as MC, received a pirate hat—each styled beautifully.
Additionally, attendees were welcome to dress up themselves (with dressing rooms and coat check available), with some showing up in unique costumes like the rare “Rara-kun” parrot motif or other Halloween-themed outfits.

The first activity was the variety segment “All Hands on Deck!! Picture-Hearted Quiz Challenge.”
This cooperative game involved one “Commander,” who gave instructions based on a prompt; one “Picture-Hearer,” who drew from those directions; and two “Answerers” who guessed what image was being drawn. The Commander could not use direct words related to the subject, while Answerers couldn’t see how the drawing progressed—testing imagination.

To prevent Commanders from getting too close to Picture-Hearders for advice, the official mascot character “Aiai” appeared as a stopper and helped support the game.

The first round featured the prompt “broom,” with Commander Satou, Picture-Hearer Nakazawa, and Answerers Kobayashi and Katsu.
Satou carefully described texture (“a hard material stick,” “long fluffy part at the bottom”), which Nakazawa skillfully translated into a drawing. Midway through, Nakazawa seemed to guess the subject and added creative touches—resulting in loud applause.

In round two, Kobayashi took on Commander, Katsu as Picture-Hearer, with Nakazawa and Satou as Answerers, tackling the prompt “crab.”
Kobayashi struggled hard to convey shapes like circles or line lengths, while Katsu drew. Meanwhile, Nakazawa and Satou played around using a cape—making for an entertaining scene where everyone was smiling. Though Kobayashi seemed unsure at first, he succeeded in drawing a convincing crab, achieving two consecutive correct guesses. Interestingly, the prompt “crab” came about because Nokai Sen is a Cancer zodiac sign.

Original reading drama reveals staff and Date’s daily lives

The original reading drama “Delightful Den of Evil~Enjoyable Demon’s Lair~” offered an entertaining story featuring the unusual team-up of Shimoigawa Makoto, Nokai Sen, Samae Fumio, and Date Koumu.

After a translation meeting, Shimoigawa and Nokai happened to meet at “Aporia” café-bar. Samae was waiting for Rikako Kariya, while Date arrived after work—and they all ended up spending time together by chance.

The conversation began with Date discussing hypnosis, leading Samae to jokingly suggest he’d be easy to hypnotize—though Samae’s slight (yet convincing) prank carried surprising credibility.

Inspired, Date proposed a new idea: what if the “Aporia” team played pranks on each other? Nokai shared a lighthearted story of how the Enforcement Team used spider toys to tease Setsumi Shizuka. Shimoigawa mused about staging a horror-style prank targeting Ikuwa Haru, head of Administration Department—whose daily life would be slowly invaded by subtle disruptions.
However, he refrained from telling Katsumoto Daiga due to his lack of pranking aptitude… creating an amusing situation where the intended targets seemed likely to expand.

Samae argued that targeting fellow Negotiation Team members wouldn’t be satisfying, so he decided on the head of the Dating Department, Ayato Koi. When asked about the prank’s details, Samae suggested testing it out first with Date as a trial run…

The resulting story perfectly captured the characters’ unique personalities and delivered an enjoyable, genuinely Halloween-themed tale.

Live performances also received Halloween makeovers!

The second variety segment was “Owner Proxy QUESTION: Team vs. Team Halloween Deduction Battle.”
Inspired by “Trick or Treat,” each team could ask the Owner Proxy a two-choice question in the format of “A or B.” The Owner Proxy could only say aloud which option applied, offering hints. If neither fit, they responded with “Happy Halloween!” Teams took turns asking questions, and the first to correctly guess the answer won.

The teams were Nakazawa & Katsu vs. Kobayashi & Satou; since Kobayashi & Satou won the rock-paper-scissors match, they went first.
The prompt was “vampire.” Early on, Nakazawa asked a crucial question: “Does it relate to Halloween or not?” Since many things connect with Halloween, both teams struggled afterward while working through deductions.

As the event neared its close, a highlight came: the personal song live segment—the hallmark of Break My Case!
This time, Kazune Tanaka, who also played music and choreographed dances, performed Halloween arrangements with dancers accompanying. Fans enjoyed Nokai Sen’s “Sword of Truth,” Shimoigawa Makoto’s “If You Believe It’s Love,” and Samae Fumio’s “Whispers of Fate.”

Additionally, the new personal song for Katsumoto Daiga, “Code:18 -without a moon-”, was unveiled. This track is already available in-app starting October 17 (see related post).

Also, the trailer for the game’s Halloween event “On a Certain Full Moon Night, Monsters Appear” was revealed for the first time at this event. Suou Ruka, Katsumoto Daiga, and Ayato Koi appear in stunning yokai forms—each new illustration release triggered thunderous applause from the audience. The event has introduced a fresh format, so stay tuned (available now starting October 24 at 16:00).

The show concluded with heartfelt reflections from the cast and expressions of gratitude toward the Owner Proxy. Farewells were handled by Shimoigawa and Nokai—leaving everyone with warm promises to create more joyful memories together.
