In recent years, “soundproof rooms” have gained increasing attention among gamers due to live streaming and game commentary by professional gamers, streamers, and VTubers. These soundproof rooms are now a familiar product featured at Tokyo Game Show. Kawakami Industry, the manufacturer of cushioning material PuchiPuchi, exhibited its new product—the simplified soundproof room series “ONE-Z”—at Tokyo Game Show 2025, showcasing their latest model: ONE-Z Loft+.
Kawakami Industry’s booth is located in two areas: General Exhibition Area Hall 2 (02-C14) and Gaming Lifestyle Corner Hall 9 (09-E41). Visitors can experience the new product at the Hall 9 booth.
The ONE-Z Loft+ is a collaborative product with Contieaks, Kawakami’s gaming-oriented brand. Its standout feature lies in combining a soundproof room with a loft bed. The product is scheduled for release within 2025.
This model marks a significant redesign from previous versions of the ONE-Z Loft, which was first showcased at Tokyo Game Show 2024. While earlier models featured separate structures for the loft bed frame and soundproof room—where the soundproof room sat directly beneath the loft—the new ONE-Z Loft+ integrates the loft bed portion with the soundproof room itself. The mattress now sits directly on top of the soundproof enclosure.
Inside the ONE-Z Loft+, the ceiling is made up of a lattice-like structure that supports the mattress, which also serves as an additional layer of acoustic insulation. Note that mattresses are not included and users can choose one to suit their preferences. Using the mattress as the ceiling improves ventilation inside the room—simply shifting it slightly allows fresh air from outside to enter.
By adjusting the position of the mattress, you can see into the interior space of the soundproof room.
Additionally, using fans built into the soundproof enclosure—or circulating air with a fan or circulator—can help prevent moisture buildup in the mattress. In line with these design changes, Kawakami has also revised the placement of internal fans to enhance airflow within the enclosed space.
The ONE-Z Loft+ features upper-mounted fans on one side and lower-mounted fans on the opposite side, improving air circulation throughout the room.
Given that Tokyo Game Show is filled with various sounds from different corners, testing a soundproof room’s performance from inside proves especially effective. If you haven’t experienced one yet, don’t hesitate to try it out in person. Also, visitors can see both models—the new ONE-Z Loft+ and the existing ONE-Z Loft—since the latter is also on display at Hall 2’s booth.
