On October 22, 2025, Hamster announced that Arcade Archives 2: Zion (available on Switch 2, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S) as well as Arcade Archives: Zion (available on Switch and PS4) will be released on October 30.

The price for the Arcade Archives 2 version is 1,100 yen (tax included), while the Switch version of Arcade Archives is priced at 838 yen and the PS4 version at 837 yen (both tax included).

Zion is a shoot ’em up game originally released in 1984 by Seibu Development. Set in the multi-layered megacity Crystal Heaven, the objective is to rescue your imprisoned kin trapped at its core. Progress downward layer by layer, aiming for the enemy’s final stronghold.

On October 30, 2025, Hamster Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Setagaya-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Toshiro Hamada) will release new content in its “Arcade Archives” series: Arcade Archives: Zion for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4, and Arcade Archives 2: Zion for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

About the “Arcade Archives” Series

The Arcade Archives series is developed with the concept of faithfully recreating classic arcade games.
It includes features such as adjustable difficulty, screen settings, rewind functions, rapid fire, and multiple save slots—convenience tools designed to enhance gameplay experience.
Players can also compete globally via online leaderboards.
Arcade Archives 2 adds a new mode called Time Attack Mode, in addition to the existing modes from the original Arcade Archives: Original Mode, High Score Mode, and Caravan Mode. In Time Attack Mode, players race against time to complete the game as quickly as possible—your score doesn’t matter, only speed does. The series also now supports VRR (Variable Refresh Rate), allowing for even more authentic behavior that closely mirrors original arcade gameplay.
