On the second day of business at Tokyo Game Show 2025, September 26, 2025, a release date announcement event was held for the new smartphone game “unVEIL the world -アンベイル ザ ワールド-”, developed jointly by Shueisha Games and NetEase Games. The official launch date has been set for October 16.
At the event, Shueisha Games producer Tatsuya Suzuki and scenario writer Shikou Aiba, both involved in this project, took the stage to introduce details about the game’s development history, characters, world setting, and gameplay system.

The game is an RPG centered around the fusion of manga reading and gaming experiences. Character designs are handled by Posuka Outwater, renowned for her artwork on “The Promised Neverland,” with NetEase Games faithfully recreating her signature transparency and vibrant colors in 3D.
The reason Outwater was chosen stems from the project’s core concept: “a tower standing in a wasteland, where protagonists struggling to survive challenge various alternate worlds within it.” This vision immediately brought her to mind when developing the initial concept, and they reached out to her directly.
The protagonist is Raji, a passionate young boy aiming for “Eden,” the legendary paradise said to be at the top of the tower. Interestingly, “Raji” means “garbage” in Chinese—fittingly echoing Raji’s humble origins as someone born into poverty.
Raji frequently uses exclamation marks in his dialogue and embodies an earnest personality. He is a cheerful character who radiates energy and never grows tired of playing games.
Raji’s childhood friend, Yuta, appears gentle and soft-spoken but possesses a strong inner resolve—often serving as the one who drives Raji forward.
Other main characters include Cred, the son of the guild master of Raji’s group; Mia, a seemingly bold young lady with surprisingly kind-hearted nature; and Denn, a self-proclaimed highly capable assistant who turns out to be quite clumsy. Together, they join forces for adventure.

Surrounding the tower is a vast desert. People survive by extracting resources from within the tower, which is dangerous and accessible only to members of the “Rise” guild. Raji, however, is seen as an outsider for aiming toward Eden—leading to conflict with the guild master and others. Players can look forward to following his growth through direct confrontation.
Inside the tower are multiple gates called “The Continuum,” which lead to various alternate worlds. Players journey through diverse realms, gradually working toward reaching the top.

Sometimes, players will need to harness the power of alternate worlds. This is achieved through magical artifacts called “Rise Gear,” which summon powerful beings known as “Aurass.” These Aurass not only play key roles in battle but also serve as vital sources for uncovering the mysteries of this world.

The story has a general outline from start to finish, but as an运营-type title, the developers plan a serialized manga-like narrative. The choice of smartphone as the platform stems from their desire for players to experience it with the same ease and proximity as reading online comics.
The title “unVEIL” means “to unveil,” reflecting the game’s core concept: uncovering mysteries across various worlds.
Gameplay is card-based battle system. Players stack character cards in their hand to unleash powerful attacks—a simple yet strategic mechanic focusing on timing and damage output. Monetization will be primarily based on gacha systems, where players can obtain Aurass and equipment cards.
