“Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End” is an animated adaptation of the manga serialized in Weekly Shōnen Sunday (Shogakukan). The story, created by author Yamada Kakushi and artist Abetsukasa, has sold over 30 million copies worldwide. Set in a world after the defeat of the Demon King by legendary heroes, it follows Frieren—a millennia-old mage who survived the war—on her journey to understand humanity following the death of her former comrade, Hero Himmel.
In this collaboration update, three main characters from “Frieren”—Frieren, Fern, and Stark—will join Solo Leveling: ARISE as SSR Hunters.

Stark, a fire-element tank, specializes in heavy combat using an axe. His key abilities include:
- “Rotational Strike” — rapidly spinning while swinging his axe
- “Sho Tenshō” — delivering a powerful downward axe blow to the front
- “Sho Tenshō: Destruction” — descending from mid-air and striking with full force
Additionally, “The Hero’s Sword,” a weapon featured in “Frieren,” will be added as Mizuho Jun’s exclusive SSR Light-element weapon. Furthermore, Valtaire, Commander of the Rigid Legion, has been introduced to the “Light Workshop.”
Other updates include new instance dungeons featuring powerful bosses and the upcoming release of a brand-new content—“The Forbidden Library of the Watcher,” available starting November 6.
