Level Infinite today (October 24, 2025) announced that the latest expansion content for the action RPG “Path of Exile,” developed by Grinding Gear Games, titled “Keepers of the Flame,” will be released on October 31.
In this expansion, players will experience the legacy of the Briar League reborn in a new form. Players will meet its founder, Ailith (Eilis), and join her order as they undertake the mission to protect Rook from incursions by the Briar Road.
Additionally, numerous new features are being introduced, including a new ascendancy option, an asynchronous trading system, a new Uber Pinnacle boss, and more.

Furthermore, the new system “Genesis Tree (Tree of Genesis)” will allow players to generate “Grafts,” enabling them to attach new skills and defensive properties. New skill gems and support gems are also being added.

The Flame Ignites on October 31The latest expansion content for the online action RPG Path of Exile, titled “Keepers of the Flame,” will be added this Friday, October 31.
This expansion revives the legacy of the Briar League in a fresh style, introducing new ascendancy options made possible by Bloodline mechanics, the long-awaited asynchronous trading system, a brand-new Uber Pinnacle boss, and various other feature improvements.

Paying homage to the iconic history and legacy of the Briar League, players will encounter Ailith (Eilis), the founder of “Keepers of the Flame.” Her order secretly operates to defend Rook from the invading Briar Road—a force that crawls forth from a barren realm seeking to dominate all of Rook.
Players must protect Ailith as she channels fire, burning away the twisted incursions of the Briar Road. In some areas, the boundary between realms has completely dissolved, giving rise to massive Briar Hands tearing through dimensions and creating unstable breaches. There, overwhelming terror engulfs entire zones. Be cautious when hunting monsters.
Depending on actions taken, players may draw the attention of Vruun, Marshal of Xesht. Defeating this fearsome enemy can permanently seal away the Briar and sever the thread connecting the Briar Road world to Rook. Additionally, in endgame areas, a new location—the “Breach Hive”—will appear, teeming with numerous Briar monsters.
Forge Terrible Upgrades via the Genesis Tree
As players purify the Briar, they discover the “heretical creation device” known as the Genesis Tree within the Keepers’ monastery. This forbidden mechanism is a source of immense power and rewards.
By working with Ailith (Eilis) and experiencing further encounters with the Briar, the tree will grow branches and nurture new powers. It can now generate Currencies, Unique Items, gear, and Grafts—new elements within the realm.
Grafts are enhancements implanted directly into organic tissue, granting new skills and defensive properties. Examples include Battering Uulgraft (a massive arm erupting from the ground) or Squalling Tulgraft (generating an ice tornado), both offering offensive capabilities.
The skill activated by the latter, “Dance in the White,” summons a deadly ice vortex that tracks enemies and fires reflected projectiles on critical hits.
A total of 16 distinct Grafts are available, allowing players to freely combine them and transform their bodies into terrifying forms. As the Genesis Tree grows, it will also begin producing a new item called Foulborn Currency—sinister orbs capable of mutating Grafts into even more blasphemous variations with extremely powerful effects.
Bring Down Destruction and Master New Power
“Keepers of the Flame” introduces new skill gems and support gems. Among them is Kinetic Rain, a new attack skill activated with a wand that unleashes unstable kinetic energy across the ground to obliterate enemies. Skilled Exiles can even “rain” this dangerous energy throughout the world.
One such support gem, Living Lightning Support, summons an elemental lightning minion capable of piercing through enemy hordes at lightning speed. Enhance your skills and cover the land with living lightning.

A new system called “Bloodline Ascendancy” has been introduced, allowing players to gain power by defeating enemies and absorbing their essence (essence). Each character can unlock this feature upon defeating a specific endgame boss. Players may freely allocate skill points between existing ascendancies and the Bloodline class.
There are ten new classes based on bosses from previous leagues, each with unique abilities and build characteristics.
Confront Zana’s Echoes of Despair for Powerful Rewards
In “Echoes of Zana’s Despair,” three brand-new Uber Incarnate bosses appear—terrifying manifestations reflecting the anguish and memories left behind by Zana. Players can earn powerful rewards in exchange for enduring brutal battles against these foes. Challenging these Uber Pinnacle bosses requires collecting five fragments dropped from Tier 17 map bosses.
Asynchronous Trading System Arrives in “Path of Exile”
The fully asynchronous trading system, which saw success in Path of Exile 2: The Third Edict, is finally being implemented into the original Path of Exile. In Act 6, players will reunite with Firstas—the merchant known for currency exchanges at Lioneye’s Vigil. He appears as the manager of “Merchant Tabs,” enabling instant buying and selling of items even while offline. This makes trading across Rook smoother and more convenient than ever.
Enhanced Features to Improve Progression
Several improvements—over a dozen in total—are being made based on community feedback in “Keepers of the Flame.” The Rogue from Heist can now start at maximum level from the beginning. Additionally, both Atlas Passive Tree and regular skill trees will become instantly resettable with gold. An option to immediately use an Augment Orb when applying modifications has also been added.
Conquer Challenges for Rewards
In “Keepers Challenge League,” 40 new challenges are introduced. Completing them rewards players with the “Keeper of the Flame Armor Set.” The first piece is obtained after completing 12 challenges, and subsequent completions gradually complete the visual appearance. To commemorate the expansion’s release, two new supporter packs—“Champion of Theopolis” and “Verdant Magus”—are available in three price tiers, each including exclusive cosmetic effects.
