Slow Life Sim "Star Sand Island Story" Set for Release on February 1, 2026; Demo Released October 8; Closed Alpha Test Also Planned

Seed Lab has announced that “Starsand Island” (original title: Starsand Island) will be released on February 1, 2026, for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. The game will be available for demo play at Tokyo Game Show 2025, which runs until September 28.

This simulation game lets players experience a peaceful rural lifestyle on “Starsand Island,” a paradise known as the “stars shining in the deep sea.” Enjoy cultivating tropical fruits, fishing, interacting with animals, and living freely. A key feature is its “NPC Affection System,” which subtly changes NPCs’ feelings based on player actions.

Starsand Island – Launching February 2026

Cozy Life Simulator set for early new year release with closed alpha test and Steam Next Fest demo planned.

Zhuhai, China – Thursday, September 25, 2025 – Chinese developer Seed Lab today announced that “Starsand Island” will be released on February 1, 2026, for PC and console. The release date was unveiled on the first day of Tokyo Game Show, allowing attendees to experience a preview of the expansive gameplay offered at launch.

As part of development preparation, a closed alpha test will soon take place, inviting selected aspiring island residents to participate.

Ahead of the Steam Next Fest event running from October 13 to 20, a demo version of “Starsand Island” will be released on October 8. Players can experience a simpler lifestyle during this release.

Players can add “Starsand Island” to their wishlist on Steam here. In the game, players take on the role of a character who leaves behind city noise and returns to the island where they spent their childhood, beginning a healing journey. On this calm and pastoral island, players will experience farming, fishing, animal care, explore mysterious ancient ruins, and build relationships with colorful local characters.

Players can fully unleash their creativity by designing and constructing their dream home. With an extensive building system, players can realize their ideal lifestyle, even inviting friends to help co-create the paradise together. Whether it’s a grand mansion, mid-century style bungalow, or charming cottage—once the desired design is completed, players can decorate both interior and exterior spaces with various furnishings and accessories.

“Starsand Island” also features extensive customization options for player characters. Players can finely adjust facial features, skin tone, makeup, hairstyles, and choose from a wide range of clothing and accessories to create fresh, stylish looks that suit life on the island. Post-launch, additional customization options will be added, along with social features and co-op gameplay. Detailed information about multiplayer functionality in “Starsand Island” will be revealed within the next few months.
