Team Jade’s tactical shooter “Delta Force” was presented at the Tokyo Game Show 2025, which opened on September 25, 2025. We attended the event and interviewed the developers; here we deliver the content with insights from the presentation.

Year 2 of service features graphics updates, new maps, collaborations, and focus on esports
First, we’ll share the content from the presentation delivered by Ryan, Japan Country Manager at Team Jade.
The first topic covered was collaboration with other franchises. The collaboration with “Arknights” will feature the “Hacking Claw × Wisha Del” as an ultimate collaborative appearance.
Next, the collaboration with the horror film “SAW (Saw)” introduced a close-combat weapon named “Saw” on September 23. Additional collaborative skins are also planned.
Regarding the recently announced collaboration with “METAL GEAR SOLID Δ: SNAKE EATER,” a collaborative integration is planned in which “No Name” will be reimagined as “Naked Snake.” Detailed information will be revealed later, so we look forward to further updates.
Next, the esports plans for the future were discussed. The “2025 DELTA FORCE INVITATIONAL” (DFI) was held from September 19 to September 21 and gained significant attention as a world championship event for extraction shooters, drawing strong enthusiasm.

The team will continue to invest in esports, with the DFI themed around “Warfare” set for Vietnam in December. Selection events leading up to this major tournament are planned for Japan as well. Furthermore, such tournaments will be progressively held throughout 2026.
Additionally, as “Delta Force” celebrates its first anniversary in December, a special campaign is currently underway. Players can earn up to 3,900 Delta Tickets and participate in an anniversary event featuring various weapon skins.
Moreover, development plans for the second year of service were revealed. A key highlight is the graphics update. Currently, only the in-game content “Black Hawk Down” is developed using Unreal Engine 5; however, Warfare and Operations are also scheduled to be updated to Unreal Engine 5, with enhanced destruction effects expected by early 2026.
Other planned features include a new “Boss Play System” for Operations mode where players battle bosses, significant expansion of the space city enabling underwater exploration, and the addition of new maps.
A new season update titled “War Ablaze” was implemented on September 23, just before the Tokyo Game Show 2025 Image Gallery No.012 thumbnail / “Delta Force” Presentation & Interview: Staying on a Unique Path with Continuous Service [TGS2025] Image Gallery No.013 thumbnail / “Delta Force” Presentation & Interview: Staying on a Unique Path with Continuous Service [TGS2025] Image Gallery No.014 thumbnail / “Delta Force” Presentation & Interview: Staying on a Unique Path with Continuous Service [TGS2025] Image Gallery No.015 thumbnail / “Delta Force” Presentation & Interview: Staying on a Unique Path with Continuous Service [TGS2025]
Interview with Jessica, Key Figure in the “Delta Force” Operations Team: Console release significantly boosted new players
Following the presentation, we spoke with Jessica, Publishing & Operations Director at Team Jade. Here’s what she shared.
4Gamer:
Today, we appreciate your time. Our last interview was just before the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S releases (related article). How has the console version’s release been received?
Jessica:
After launch, we saw a significant increase in new players, even more than we had anticipated. Although it’s a globally served title, Japan currently has the highest player retention rate—this also surpassed our expectations. With more players joining, we’ve received diverse feedback. For example, we acknowledge that the console version’s user interface and overall experience aren’t yet optimal for players. We’re actively refining these based on player input.
Additionally, player response to Operations mode has been very positive—we often hear “We’ve been waiting for this!”
Also, following the console release, there’s been a synergistic effect boosting new PC players as well. It’s very rewarding for us and motivates us further to keep improving and evolving.

4Gamer:
In our previous interview, you mentioned the console version would be more accessible to players—your prediction has certainly come true (laugh).
Jessica:
Yes. On one hand, however, Operations mode involves a lot of complex actions and may take time for broader player understanding. We’re determined to keep improving it so that more people can enjoy playing.
4Gamer:
Between Warfare and Operations modes, which is currently more popular?
Jessica:
Warfare remains the most popular, but participation in Operations mode is actually higher than on PC.
4Gamer:
Apologies for asking such a detailed question, but soon our rival title “Battlefield 6” will be released. How do you view this?
Jessica:
Excellent question. The “Battlefield” series is both a strong competitor and one we deeply respect. However, there are many differences in game design and systems. Beyond being free-to-play with cross-platform support across PC, console, and mobile, aspects like map design concepts, world-building, and the presence of operators differ significantly.
Moreover, our title is built for long-term operation—we continuously add new elements each season. We believe this enables us to differentiate ourselves effectively. Plus, we also have a mobile version.
4Gamer:
So it’s similar in some ways but different in others.
Jessica:
Exactly. While we’re confident in differentiation, we’ve also enhanced many aspects significantly. Some players have expressed concern that “there’s nothing left to do as the season nears its end,” so we respond by introducing new elements. For instance, this season will feature multiple “Mini Modes.”
We’ll offer fun and varied experiences such as aircraft-only modes, knife-only modes, sniper-only modes—ensuring content stays fresh and engaging without causing boredom. The graphics update discussed in the presentation is another example.

4Gamer:
Implementing a graphics update is impressive. The development team must have grown significantly since the initial stages.
Jessica:
Indeed. Global expansion presents a major challenge for us. We’re excited about our own progress, but we continuously evolve and learn to better deliver what players truly desire. To support this, we’ve expanded our team and created an environment conducive to growth.
4Gamer:
Thank you very much.
